Rev. C.I.B. Brane was the organizer of the congregation and its first pastor. The large church building was erected in 1904 during the pastorate of Rev. O. W. Burtner and the Sunday School unit was constructed in 1915 when Dr. Charles E. Fultz was the minister. The United Brethren and evangelical denominations were merged in 1946 to form the Evangelical United Brethren Church. Memorial congregation relocated in Silver Spring at Colesville Road and Sligo Creek Park in 1957. On November 23, 1958, the new Memorial Evangelical United Brethren Church was dedicated. Rev. Paul E.
